well, i have GOT to finish some books. i don’t know how this happened, but i am currently reading 4 books and there are so many more that i want to start! normally i am a very “finish what you start” type person, so this is very out of character for me…
currently reading:
funny in farsi - this book is about growing up as an iranian in america. everything in this book is so familiar to me. i don’t know if other people would think so, but to me it is laugh out loud funny!
the strong willed child - i started this book months ago and i seem to go back and start over every time grace is driving me crazy. i have probably read the first few chapters several times, when will i get to read the last chapters?! the thing is that even if you are practicing good consistant parenting techniques, if you have a strong willed child it will just always be hard. i think i read this book looking for some secret that will make my life easier (not that life is really all that hard
) but i’m just going to have to keep being consistant and loving and prayerful. there is no quick fix for a child who will climb out of a crib and ask for a spanking instead of getting back in…
the pursuit of god – i was supposed to read this book for a leaders retreat i went on this summer. i really loved what i read of the book, really great biblical truths. things we all need to hear. since i didn’t get done in time for the retreat i am determined to finish now!
disappointment with god – just started reading this with my BFF’s. we get together for prayer every month and decided to read this book together. so far so good!
want to read next:
there is no me without you – saw this on someone’s blog and was drawn to it. ethiopia is always on my heart.
and i really want to read something about darfur. i missed the reading for darfur month (it was september) but i still want to educate myself about this. what these people have endured is terrible and i’m glad there are books that give voice to their suffering. i haven’t decided which one i’ll read..
Hi, Ms. Anna! I read bits of pieces of the strong willed child, but never finished it!
P.S.–it sounds like Grace may be ready for a toddler bed!!!
